In every family, there’s usually a documentarian. It’ll be no surprise to you that I’m the documentarian of my family. I love capturing memories and sharing them. And I also love discovering old memories and helping them live a whole new life.
My work as a videographer and being the one to film so many families, special events and weddings always has me in my feels. There are so many times that parents say how excited they are to look back at my videos in 20 years and share them with their kids. For so many, there are long-lost memories just waiting to be rediscovered!
How many of your memories are in a box in a closet or basement? And how many people have a VCR anymore? VHS tapes degrade over time and there’s nothing that breaks my heart more than the thought of a cute video of you as a kid being lost forever because it just sat there.

We’ll set up a time to meet up and I’ll return your labeled tapes and deliver USBs if you ordered them. I'll also go through the archive records so you understand how everything was labeled and organized. If you’re not local, I’ll mail your tapes back to your but you’ll have to pay the shipping cost.

Let's turn your footage into something!
Now that you have your video files, it can feel like an overwhelming task to do something with them. At any point, you can add on my video editing services but if you book them within 30 days of delivery, there's a 20% discount.
There are many levels of editing that I can do. Most often, one tape can have multiple events on it.. I can separate them and (with your help) add title cards to each. I can also create highlight videos so if you want the best moments of all the footage of one person. Or maybe a compilation of all the years of birthday celebrations. Really, the options are endless and I’ll talk through ideas I have when I deliver your gallery. Editing is not one-size-fits all pricing so I’ll give you quotes. I do everything myself with the utmost respect and care for your memories. I'll convert and create the digital files while making a archival catalog of each tape. When I'm done, I’ll send you an online gallery with all of your videos where you can view and download them — you can share the link to your gallery with anyone. I'll also send your archival catalog for reference.
Your gallery will stay online for 30 days so you can download your video files. If you want me to back up the files to a USB, I can do that for $30 per USB. If you want your gallery to stay online longer, there is a $25/month fee (paid upfront).

If you’re local to the Twin Cities, let’s meet up to talk through your goals, needs and any organizational preferences. Then, I’ll take your tapes. If you're not local, you can mail me your tapes and we'll have a video or phone call to talk about everything.
Once I receive your media, you'll need to pay a 50% non-refundable downpayment and the other 50% will be due when your video files are ready. I'm open to alternate payment schedules, if needed, just ask.

Gather all of your media
I can digitize VHS, VHS-C and miniDV tapes, plus DVDs and I charge $20 per item. If you have 16mm or 8mm film as well, I can use a third party to scan those so I can catalog them all together. Pricing options to be discussed during our call.
