The Terry family: sweet, silly and fully themselves

Some families show up to a session trying to be perfectly posed. The Terry family showed up ready to be themselves — and that made all the difference.

They’re quirky, fun, a little weird in the best way and completely comfortable leaning into it. I loved it from the start.

A late-summer walk together

We met in the final days of summer and wandered along a park path, stopping whenever we found a spot that felt right. No rush, no big agenda — just exploring and letting moments unfold naturally.

That’s often when the magic happens during family sessions. Kids don’t feel pressured. Parents relax. Personalities come out.

And with this crew, personality was never in short supply.

The best kind of energy

There were giggles that turned into full laughter. Spontaneous dancing. Rocking out to the KPop Demon Hunters.

The Terry family has that rare mix of sweetness and quirky fun — the kind where one moment is tender and the next is completely silly. That contrast is what makes family films feel alive instead of staged.

Why these moments matter

Family video isn’t about perfection. It’s about remembering how your family actually is in this season of life.

The way your kids adjust their glasses. The way you all laugh together. The little habits and goofy moments that won’t exist in the same way a few years from now.

Filming alongside a photo session with Emily meant the Terry family walked away with both still memories and living ones — moments you can hear, see and feel all over again.

A session that was just plain fun

Nothing about this session felt forced. It felt real, a little chaotic and full of love. Honestly, that’s the sweet spot. That’s where the memories live.

And for the Terry family, that meant capturing a chapter that’s joyful, weird, loving and completely their own.
